When deciding what and where to study, start by thinking about your academic interests and your career goals. Take some time to research specific courses, subjects, options for electives and language barriers if any during your course of stay. Look at the campus location, rankings, the amount of time you would like to spend away from home and the total cost of studying and living overseas.

Studying overseas is about more than just the course. Think about what kind of lifestyle you prefer, do you want to be in a cosmopolitan city, or a quiet country town? Would you prefer to choose a city where there are other students from your nationality? Answering questions like these will help you narrow down your options. Also speak with UCP-IO office, we can help you select the programme that best meet your preferences.

Please note that UCP provides opportunities for fee paying as well as tuition free international exchange programmes to its students therefore, when selecting your programme please make sure that you note the fee details accordingly or contact International Office for clarification.

Prospective outbound students will be responsible for arranging travelling & visa/pass expenses, accommodation, medical/health insurance or any additional service charges during their course of stay in the host university. It will be the responsibility of student to find financial resources i.e., self-financing or finding suitable scholarships.

You can receive transfer of credits for only those courses for which a course with similar standard, credit hours and matching description is available in the relevant academic program at UCP. As the marking criteria in foreign universities may differ from UCP, therefore grade mapping mechanism shall be in place before the student’s exchange takes place. The cases will then be forwarded to the Equivalence and Academic Committee for review and further assessment.

Please note that transfer of credits will only be allowed after the final approval of the Equivalence and Academic Committee meeting for each case.

You should normally 4 – 5 months prior to your intended date of travel and joining the programme at the host institution. Please bear in mind the time required by your home/host institution to review your application, application processing, deciding acceptances and consequently finalizing visa, accommodation and travel arrangements accordingly.

Students availing the exchange programme will be eligible for academic honors, scholarships and awards, as long as they are taking full semester loads in their studies at UCP and finishing remaining degree requirement with their batch of registration. However, if as a result of the exchange activity, any of their courses are affected, these students would be permitted to make up for the shortfall (of the affected courses only) on return to UCP either during the summer sessions, if offered, or during succeeding regular semester, in excess to their regular course load.

Unfortunately, UCP-IO does not have any funding for this purpose.
